NY or LA?

So I'm interviewing for jobs in both NY and LA and I'm torn.  If I get offers from both places I don't know where to pick.  On one hand, I love what NY has to offer and I feel like I just got here.  On the other hand, most of my good friends and my entire family is back in LA.  Of course I could only get an offer in one place and then my decision would be a lot easier.  Xanga friends help me out.  Tell me why I should choose LA or NY.  ("Because I don't want to see your ugly face in NY anymore" does not count as an answer.)

LA! because the weather is always beautiful and if the people aren't, well then, they can fake it!

i'm from the eastcoast though so i'm a tad biased because i've been wanting to move out to the westcoast for a while now.

i had this same dilemma about six months ago. and a year ago. and 12 years ago. i'm so indecisive but i finally returned home.

back then, i was young and hungry to explore the rest of the country but now that i'm older (12 years later) and settled somewhat, i look for peace and comfort and i realized that i am most comfortable around my family and good friends. but it's not to say that i don't visit CA b/c I visit my friends out there all the time. friends are everywhere!

this is just my personal opinion and no offense to west coasters but i would never ever live in LA. i dont even like san fran because i'm scared of heights. (jk! kinda) seriously speaking though, i can't think of one reason why I WOULD live in LA. some ppl say go for the sun and warm weather, but i'm a vampire and i like snow. others say food but i think eventually even that will lose its appeal. guys will say hot girls, but over there "hot" can be bought for a few thousand dollars and in 10 years will you really still go korean clubbing?

its important to have family and friends close by though, which is one of the reasons i love the ny/nj area and i'm sure its a huge reason for you too. to be honest i didnt even like NY until the last couple of years. now i love it and appreciate it. can you believe i wanted to go back to OHIO at first?

Hello Andrew,
I like your site. You worked hard to make it simple yet elegant. I see that you need to choose a job. We all do! That’s the kind of world that we live in now, a world where we need jobs just to survive and all the good ones are already taken. Fortunately, it isn’t going to stay this way much longer!
I want to help people to really get to know God, especially in these troubled times. The Bible contains many important message for us such as: "...The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you." (1Thessalonians 4:6) (NIV)
I like to write articles about God and religion on my site. I hope you get a chance to look at them.

new york. give it a little more time here, dude. california will always let you go back later. if you leave new york she'll treat you like a (korean) woman scorned.

Obviously NY. Because you can always go back to LA, since your family is out there, at least twice a year. Leave the home nest, mama's boy. Plus, how am I supposed to introduce you to my friend if you leave the city? And then we'd be short one East Coast Kwon . Don't leave us, oppa!!

And you promised to have THANKSGIVING DC happen this year.

this is a tough one, as i don't like LA or NYC...but if i had to choose, it'd be NYC. much more to do out there, and if you're sick of the city, you can fly around the east coast cities for a weekend getaway. but then i've learned that friends and family are important...and being close to them is really what makes all the unbearable things, bearable.

I really have no idea how you're liking the Big Apple. Definitely think about if you're ready to leave. I think many people feel the pressure to return to family and I respect that. I just find that many people wish they had stayed just a tad bit longer before returning home. Just warning you though...I'm gonna dognap your Momo if you extend the stay. I have a brilliant plan.

I say NYC!  You can always go back to LA whenever you want.  Although, some people have never regretted leaving NYC sooner than later.

This decision goes all the way back to Tupac and Biggie.  Friends was scened in NYC, but was taped in LA.  These days, both LA and NY hats look good.  NY has street vendor hot dogs, but LA has bacon wrapped street hot dogs.  LA also has good mexican food.  It's a tough call, but I always wanted to live in NYC.  Either way, you can play Rock Band and Street Fighter in any city, so I would say just stay wherever you get a job.  Or just settle in the midwest.

NY. You just got there. Make the most of it. LA can wait. Besides, the freeways are just too damn congested in CA anyway.

Just say F Off America and move to HK with me.

Or do what Sam does, compromise. Move to Topeka, Kansas.

since i too have had the opportunity to live on both coasts.. i see how torn you could be. NY has so much to offer and this city has personality far beyond what any other city can offer, hands down. LA has amazing weather/food and like you said the base of ur good friends/family so i see how tempting it is to go back. its a hard decision cause both places have a lot of positives but since i flocked back home for the same reason of close friends/family.. there are time i wished i stayed out in LA longer and took advantage while i was there... home will always be there, so i think that while you're here, make the most of it and be thankful that you even have the option of choosing between these two fantabulous cities, when some people would give anything & everything just to be able to think of living in these places.

ur a smart guy andy kwoon. whatever decision you make, everyone will respect you (and hate you) hahaha. jokes. but.. u JUST moved into an apt near KTOWN u butt.. when theres people like me who live in JACKSON WHERE-IN-THE-HELL-IS-THAT HEIGHTS. you rich people make me sick -.- lol

=D
